WINE NOTES |
This old vine Zinfandel released by GiaDomella comes from an estate vineyard
located along the Russian River owned by the E. Passalacqua family under the
guidance of winemaker Nick Goldschmidt. The land where this historic vineyard
is situated has been in our family for nearly a century and has been owned in
succession by our great-grandparents, grandparents and parents. Grape growing
and winemaking have always been a piece of our family heritage. GiaDomella is a
tribute to this heritage and is named after Gianna, Dominic, and Marcella
Passalacqua, the 5th generation of our winemaking family.
100% of the grapes are sourced directly from the 50 acre estate vineyard, with
the multiple soil types and microclimates lending themselves to this gloriously
complex and seamless wine.
A lush, full-bodied wine with intense notes of wild blackberries, raspberries
and plums. Rich and generous, this wine is perfect for a casual family dinner
or could just as easily be the bottle of choice for elegant dining with friends. |

"DOUBLE GOLD" 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 90 POINTS: Wine Enthusiast Feb '08 Defines a very ripe, varietally true interpretation of Zinfandel. It's the kind of wine the old Italian-American families might have enjoyed in the days of old, with its lusty flavors of freshly picked wild berries that were made into jam. The alcohol is on the high side, but the wine is luscious. - S.H. |
